Tired of checking if you have make-up between your toes?

Tired of reading pages of rules about how long you have to get on stage, what you should look like and where you should keep your punch line?

The Great Clown Adventure is the place you've been dreaming of.

Here are

For the Skit Competition...
  1. Sign up in time
  2. You got 5 minutes.

That's about it. Now let me describe the events for you.

Single Skit
You can do a bit alone. First comes the preliminary round. You are given a time and you show up to do your bit/skit/thing for a panel of Great Clown Adventure staff.

They will then ask you if you want a critique. If you say yes, these luminaries will tell you what they think. They will make suggestions.

Group Skit
Same as single skit, but you need more than one person. You could even do a single skit with someone standing next to you (You would probably loose, but you could).

That same staff will then watch the rest of the skits and decide which were the best ten (10) acts. Those ten acts will then move up to the final round, or The Big Time Finals.

The Big Time Finals
They will do their act, and a group of celebrity judges, including a professional agent from Las Vegas will pick the winners based on their performance and the audience reaction. it will be Simple, Easy and Fair.

For those of you lucky enough to be in the big show, plan on a professional show. Stagehands will set your props, so keep them practical.

The stage has a band, so music will be provided. Plan to be funny. The show will be on the Circus Circus stage over the main Casino.

It should be quite a thrill.

The top ten acts receive a medal!
We also give a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Festival Balloons Competition

Peachey Keene said we could use the format from PU that we like so well. Contestants will run "The Balloon Gauntlet".

"The Balloon Gauntlet" is a group of five instructors portraying people you would meet at a festival.
Contestants get 1 minute at each station.
(Five judges X 1 minite each = ??????)

Judges (the ones playing children) will then grade each clown on their performance at their station.

So the judges may be acting like...
  • Obnoxious drunks
  • Bratty kids
  • Shy kids
  • Troublesome teens
  • Pushy moms

At the finish, the judges will make a few comments on what was good and what was not, so that we all can learn abit.

It is pretty funny, I guess, because we never seem to get any pictures that turn out from it.

Sheets will be totaled and that will tell us who are the real balloonists, and who gets the medal. It is challenging to participate, and a lot of fun to watch. . A word to past contestants: every year has different "characters" for you to face. As one contestant said, "It's not about the balloon, baby!"

This year he will be changing up!

And again this Year,
Creative Balloon Competition

Put your creativity to the test! This original competition gives you a set amount of time with a mystery packet of balloons. You can use these, and only these balloons to create your balloon masterpiece.

Our resident balloon expert does the judging and looking on in this competition, and of course the audience that shows up to enjoy this and the festival competition!

Paradability
We will hold this event in the Adventuredome at Circus Circus.
Participants will not know where all of the judges are. There will be real people, and so we will have a real parade. Hidden in the real crowd will be real judges. You will be judged on your interaction throughout the parade.
There will be one judges' stand to insure that you will have one place to do your whole bit in front of a judge, but that will be the only guarantee. We want to see you at your best in a real clown situation. It will be fun.

At the Gala Awards Banquet, we will announce the winners of each competition and award them with their medals.
